                               ADOPT A  LEPROSY  PATIENT’S  CHILD

When a husband discovers that his wife is a ‘leper’, almost invariably he abandons her and marries another woman.  He abandons not only his leper-wife but also their children who are his children as much as they are hers.  These unfortunate kids often become beggars and at times lepers as well -- a tragedy beyond words.

St. Luke’s Home for Healthy Children gives refuge to such children.  They receive food, clothes, shelter, medical care and education -- all free of cost.  After School Final they are sent for job-oriented technical training.  At the end of the training, St. Luke’s helps them with their placement.

In short, a leper-child who once ran the risk of becoming leper as well as beggar is enabled to blossom into a productive citizen earning his/her own livelihood and living with dignity and supporting the family.

Fifty such children need support.  Each child needs about Rs.500/- per month.

  • One can gift Rs.500/- (EURO 10) every month
    • Is similar to a recurring deposit
  • OR  Rs.6,000/- (EURO 120) every year
    •  Is similar to the annual insurance
  • OR  An Endowment of Rs.1,00,000/- (EURO 2000)
    • Is a one time payment

The Endowment amount can be paid in many installments. It is permanent and once for all times.  Only the interest accrued will be used for supporting the child. The donor will receive a report on the socio-econo-clinical background of the child with photographs and periodical progress reports. - View some reports
